Fav Foodie Finds: July

Hi guys! July has been full of good eats and I’ve got my fav foodie finds for you (phew…say that 3 times fast!) Check them out and let me know what you think if you give some a try!

Ninja Express Chop Elite

July Fav Foodie Finds - Ninja Express Chopper Elite

Why I Love It:

I’ve been obsessed with my Ninja Express Chop Elite lately. It’s like the duct tape of the food world – it fixes everything! Throw a bunch of ingredients in it to whip up a quick snack like my coconut cranberry energy bites or blend up some frozen fruit for a smoothie. The Ninja is so powerful it’ll blend ice, but is also in a nice compact size. So, when you want to whip up a bowl of “nice cream” but don’t want to clean a huge blender, this guy will do the trick.

What I Don’t Love:

Because it is smaller, when you’re blending up thinner liquidy mixtures, the lid can get a little messy. Especially when taking off the lid, the liquid tends to drip onto your hand or counter.

Plate JoyWhy I Love It:

What I Don’t Love:

They don’t actually make the meals for you 😉

Sabra Spinach Parmesan Greek Yogurt Dip

July Fav Foodie Finds - Sabra Spinach Parmesan Greek Yogurt DipWhy I Love It:

I could literally eat the whole tub of this Sabra Spinach Parmesan Greek Yogurt Dip in one sitting. It has the creamy texture of a cream cheese based dip; but, what it’s missing is the sourness of some Greek yogurts. All that’s left is a delicious, savory, cheesey dip that tastes good with anything. Trust me!

What I Don’t Love:

It is still a prepackage dip, so you’re not going to be able to avoid some added ingredients needed to maintain freshness (even though it is in the refrigerator section, so there will be less added ingredients needed to preserve it – WIN!) But, as far as additives go in a prepackaged food, there are definitely worse offenders out there.

July Fav Foodie Finds - DatesWhy I Love It:

If you haven’t jumped on the dates bandwagon, what are you waiting for!? They’re like nature’s gift to candy lovers. Dates are naturally sweet and chewy, full of fiber, and packed with vitamins and minerals, like vitamin B6 and potassium. They make a great pre-workout snack for sustainable energy. Or, blend them up with a little milk of your choice and some vanilla extract for a refined sugar –free caramel sauce, like in my healthy snickers bars.

What I Don’t Love:

Dried out dates are a little like eating that Starburt from Halloween when it’s May….a little stale and a little crunchy when it shouldn’t be (don’t look at me like that!….I know I’m not the only one whose done this 😉). So, proper storage is important. Some brands’ containers just don’t cut it when it comes to preserving freshness. If you buy some with a container that allows too much air in, just switch the chewy  little wonders into a zip top baggie. Chewy dates > rock hard dates all day, e’rry day!

Why I love it:

Ok, ok this might be cheating and I may be a little biased…but I’m soooo excited to be sharing the new, improved, faster, and more user friendly HealthyHacks.net! I hope you guys like it and take a peak around! Find some new recipes and let me know what you think! I’d love to hear your feedback.
